Instead of handling tangled and knotted cords or dealing with dangerous and unreliable spring loaded mechanisms, our motor-driven Ceiling Mount Power Cord System winds the cord nice and neat every time – at the touch of a button. The Ceiling Mount model comes installed with 50ft. of heavy-duty 12 gauge extension cord, and employs a patented self-leveling ball joint that allows it to be mounted on horizontal, vertical, and angled surfaces as high as 16ft.

Safety

Winds in fast and slows down to docking speed, preventing whipping action that can cause injury and damage.
Power will shut off in less than a second if the extension cord is accidentally severed to help prevent electrical injuries.

My roboreel arrived today; it’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited about a new gadget. I bought the ceiling mount and installed it in my garage without issue. I set the cord to slow down before it completely retracts – it’s really cool. I’m usually not prone to bragging or one-upping, but I really can’t wait to see the look on my overly competitive neighbor’s face when he sees this thing hanging in my garage (Posted on 10/17/12)

I have many spring powered reels in my garage and have never seen them as a problem. When one of them went out I decided to try out the roboreel to see if it met the hype and I have been impressed so far.

The motor retraction is actually a big plus. Instead of having to walk back and forth all day because it will wind in controlled on its own. I no longer have to pull the cord to engage the "click" on the reel and I can just hit the button to start the wind. Roboreel claims the motor will outlast spring reels but this is yet to be seen.

The programming of the slow down point is the best feature on the reel. After I set this point the reel will slow down at the length I set before leaving the floor and then it will wind the cord in at a slow speed like an elevator. The only downside was I had to pull the user guide out of the garbage to figure out how to program the reel to do this.

As more of my reels go out I will replace them with the roboreel. I would also like to get my hands on the air hose when it comes out. (Posted on 10/17/12)

This reel was extremely easy to install in my shop. Just three screws in the plate and then the unit slides right in and locks into place. I've always had a funny ceiling that is low and angled and the ball joint on the unit is awesome because it hangs straight down where its mounted. It's the envy of all my friends. Very cool.
